When I first came to MC, everyone seemed excited about finding a gut/girl they could date. I, however, already had someone. I can not tell you how many times I heard that long distance relationships do not last at MC. Well, if I had listened to everyone and been like, well this is doomed to fail anyways and had given up; yes, it probably would not last.
Relationships take work. Not just one person can make it work; both parties have to really want it. I believe that a relationship formed with not only love and friendship; but hard work, dedication, and faithfulness can work. Even if we do not see each other everyday, to me it makes the time we are together, more special. I am not saying all long distance relationships work. In fact, most do fail. But for those out there who really love each other and believe in the relationship, do not let others make you think otherwise. Only God knows what His plan for you life is.
My boyfriend, Brannon, and I just celebrated our four year anniversary on November 19. All of my freshmen friends said we would never last until graduation. Well they were wrong. Do not let people or your friends influence the decisions in your life. If you believe in something, fight for it with everything you have!
